California Non-Resident CCW.

How do you obtain your California Non-Resident CCW?

  1. Choose a California Sheriff or Police Department whose jurisdiction you are going to visit at least once a year (the Sheriff or Police Department must be the one responsible for CCW’s within that city or county).

  2. Join one of the Pro 2a groups, such as Gun Owners of America, whose membership is accepted for the application.

  3. Fill out and pay for the application online.

  4. When completing your application, chose an available interview time for your CCW interview.

  5. Submit your fingerprints to the agency prior to your interview.

  6. Attend your online interview.

  7. When your background check is completed, sign up for, pay for, and complete your 16 hours mandated online training.

  8. When the training is completed, book and attend your range qualification.

  9. The department will now issue your CCW!

Expect the process to take 6 to 9 months. It can take as little as 3, but we have found the average time is 5 to 6 months, from the time you choose a department to apply to, until the CCW arrives in the mail.

To help you through the system, we offer three solutions. These are -

  1. The full course (16 hours online training and the required qualification shoot, or,

  2. The 8 hour renewal course, or,

  3. The qualification shoot, following you obtaining your 16 hour online course certificate (call, email or text to make a booking).

No matter the offering, we take you through the entire process and stay with you until the end!
